Comparison between the challenges of AS production work and A2 production work

Nature of task- This task was a lot more harder to film as whatever we had to film had to match to the music and we had to get everything perfect and in time with the music whereas at AS we could just film without worrying about keeping anything in time with anything. Also, we needed to use a lot more locations for it to look like a music video whereas at AS this wasn't an issue.

Style of filming- This wasn't significantly different from AS as a variety of shots needed to be used in order for the video to be successful, these shots include everything from close ups, extreme close ups, long shots, establishing shots, point of view shots, over the shoulder shots, low angle shots, high angle shots, crane shots, pan shots etc. For music videos however, we noticed that the main types of shots used were close-ups, medium shots and establishing shots and long shots. At A2 we needed to allocate more time for filming whereas at AS we didn't need as much time.


Style of editing-Editing at A2 was much more challenging than at AS as music video are almost all edited all the way through whereas at AS, with films they aren't edited all the way through so we had to use a lot of editing techniques this time as opposed to last year, e.g using effects to exaggerate things e.g the colour and strength of the water fountains, using slow-motion
to exggerate things etc,

Amount of work- A lot more work from AS as with music videos we need to really think about what we're filming and editing and we also needed time aside to think about and make the album covers, digipak covers and poster and the editing needed most of our time to make the video look like a music video.
